Foundry Mountain Activities are one of the largest and most established providers of Residential Adventurous Learning in the UK. From our bases in The Peak District, Mid Wales and The Yorkshire Dales we have delivered well over 1,000 week long courses in the last 15 years We hope that the following provides a brief overview of our provision and summarises some of the key reason to run your residential courses in partnership with FMA.
We combine adventure, problem solving and team challenges to create innovative courses that engage and enthuse young people. Our courses contribute to the personal development of every team member, build a strong team, prepare for the following programme, and enhance retention & attainment. There are many opportunities to generate evidence and meet specific accreditation targets.
· Our instructors are some of the most experienced in the UK, many have been working with us on residential courses for 10+ years and they understand the requirements of a team programme. Our management team includes a dedicated Coordinator and a residential provision Director. Many of our instructors are qualified teachers, FE lecturers or experienced Team Leaders.
· Our residential courses maintain the highest standards of safety and quality. We are AALS licensed, and also hold the Adventuremark, LOtC Quality Badge and AHOEC Gold Standard. Everything is fully risk assessed and delivered according to standard operating procedures.
· We own two accommodation bases, one in the Peak District and one in mid Wales. We also run courses at a number of other appropriate residential bases throughout the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales & Wales. Accommodation centres are selected for their facilities and location, and are always provided on a sole-use basis.
· Our provision is highly flexible, and will be tailored to your specific needs. We can provide transport where required, collect & return to team base and support outside the residential week as required. All courses have the flexibility to allow changes in response to the team needs and the prevailing conditions.
