Foundry Mountain Activities

Foundry Mountain Activities provides nearly 200 residential programmes each year, based at accommodation sites across the country.

Accommodation sites are selected to best suit the aims and objectives of the course, the nature of the client group and their specific residential requirements. Sites used range from mountain hostels and bunkhouses through to hotels and guest houses. We can provide self-catered accommodation, partial or supported catering, or any standard of full catering to meet your requirements.

We own and run two of our own accommodation centres, The Foundry Adventure Centre in the heart of the Peak District National Park, and The Old Weather Station in the Cambrian Mountains at the centre of Wales. Both sites offer flexible accommodation set amongst some of the best activity venues available.

We also have developed partnerships with a number of other accommodation providers to ensure that we have sufficient quality accommodation available to service our course delivery. As both an accommodation provider and one of the largest users of independent accommodation we have an intimate knowledge of what is required to deliver an effective residential experience. We are also pretty aware of the problems that can occur with residential groups, and very experienced in ensuring that problems do not occur / solving them when they do!

Our instructional team are experienced in supporting leaders of groups of young people in a residential environment, and our programmes are structured to ensure that participants are fully occupied throughout their stay. As a general rule we only provide sole occupancy residential accommodation, removing many of the potential issues with groups of young people. We also seek to accommodate adults in an environment that is appropriate to their course and to their enjoyment of the course.
